I bought this product as a gift for a friend after having used the very same product for many years. I like the fact that it is easy to carry with me and comes with a nice case. I have had no problems with my magnifier, and would not hesitate to recommend it. I can forsee a time when I may need stronger magnification, but for the time being this one serves my needs well. If and when that time comes, I would definitely seek out another Bausch&Lomb, because I appreciate the quality.

You will pay more for a Bausch & Lomb so you should expect more. This is a well made, quality product. I feel it is worth the nearly $20.00 it cost. It should last for many years. The fold-away handle is a wonderful feature. The only problem for me is that it's hard to determine what strength is best for me without trying it out before buying it. I took a chance on the 2X on this. I really need a stronger magnification but couldn't really know that until I received it and used it. You will have the best luck ordering a magnifier if you know for sure what strength you need. Without this knowledge, you are taking a chance on getting one you won't be happy with. Unfortunately, I did not have this knowledge and am disappointed.

This is a fantatic handheld, lighted magnifier! Can be used with or without light, no annoying bubble extra magnification, if you want high quality at an affordable price, this is the way to go.

I bought this magnifier, but I don't think I would again.
What's good: The lens.
What's bad : The light is very dim.
The handle feels cheap.
The circular grey switch feels cheap and is
not ergonomic.

Pros: Good clear lens, frame design is sturdy enough for basic office use, adequate ergonomics in the handle and light switch. Comes with batteries.
Cons:
- Uses an incandescent bulb instead of an LED, so bulb and batteries will burn out faster. The next redesign of this product ought to have LEDs.
- Strange plastic square projecting 1/4" out from the bulb housing into the lens' field of view, which serves no purpose I can fathom, other than to get in the way.
