Terrific tool set for an awesome price!Feb 18, 2009

Great all around tool set with a quality finish. Combination wrenches feel great and are made to last. 3/8" and 1/4" Ratchet are also very well made. They come with a socket lock to prevent sockets from popping off like the old days. All sockets are easy to read and are listed in both metric and in inches. Case is well made and holds everything almost in place, excluding the sockets which are not securely in place. Despite other reviews case DOES come with black latches to lock the case, as seen in the photos. They are attached to the plastic wrap over the case. Just snap them on and your done. No instructions for snapping them on, only takes a second to figure out.
The Crescent 70-piece tool set is probably the best bang for the buck, period. Mine was purchased for $49.12 on Amazon and it was absolutely worth every single penny. Must buy for those who already own pliers, adjustable wrenches, etc!
Thank you Cooper Hand Tools!

Tools fine, case a piece of junkJan 11, 2011
By Kasanka Girl If you are looking for just the tools, this is an ok buy.
The product packaging and storage case are total piece of junk though so if you want the tools and plan to use them often I suggest getting a better case. As noted in the other reviews there are fasteners to latch the case shut, but they come separately to be clipped into place (also junk imo as they are very cheap plastic which broke instantly).
We ordered this as a Christmas present. As shown in the photo the item arrives open faced with a clear hard plastic screwed onto the surface. This clear cover however is super cheap plastic and arrived cracked; Upon opening our Amazon box pieces were sent everywhere since nothing was keeping them in tact...what a mess...pieces under tables, under the couch, one the cat batted off as a toy. We pieced it back together eventually after finding them all, but that was seriously annoying to have to even bother with if the packaging were at all thought through from a customer perspective. Additionally all the pieces don't stick in their slots within the toolkit as they should in a standard tool kit making the case itself quite useless. Each time the kit is opened many of pieces fall out if the user is unaware that the case is junk. Worthless.
3.5 star tools, 0 star packaging... so 2.5 stars I guess.

I love the way you can grab a set of tools that has a place for everything, go and get the job done, wipe the tools clean and put them away. If there is an empty slot or space I look for and find the tool and my set is complete for the next time I am called out to be Mr. Fix It. Less lost tools. I find the 170 piece set has the best value. It plus a hammer and I am ready to go

Almost everything you need in one placeSep 14, 2007

I have owned this kit for about 5 years. Very practical and tools are durable. The guy I bought it from says that Crescent's warranty, is send it in and they will send one back. I have never had to. I build log cabins and other handy work. This is a go to box. Only two complaints 1. The 4 tabs holding unit closed are flimsy-Only one tab left 2. Some of my pliers are missing-one is at the bottom of a lake in Canada
I paid 100.00 for mine which I think was a good value

Crescent CTK70MP 70-Piece Mechanics Tool Set with Storage CaseDec 17, 2011

I am a little disappointed with this tool set. I use Crescent Brand Crescent Wrenches almost every day at work and they are a great tool and about the only wrench I have found that holds its place and doesnt lock up or come loose.
This tool kit is pretty close to bottom end in my book. I expected more from the Crescent Brand of Tools. The hand wrenches are good and the sockets and extension seem to hold up well. The Ratchets them selves are really cheaply made. I feel like if I put to muck torque on them they are going to break. The lever on them to switch from forward to reverse is very poorly made and I dont see them lasting much longer until they break off.
I gave it 3 stars since the wrenches and sockets will last for a while and I have several extra Craftsman ratchets that I can use when the Crescent ones break (I just hope I dont break a knuckle when they go).
