poor qualitySep 28, 2007

Appears to be Chinese construction. Slider mechanism catches at certin points, without apparent cause. Added oil and gentle touch, little or no good effect noticed. Wiggling the jaws helps the slider move, but not convenient or a one hand tool like the old Crescent wrenches. I'll keep my Crescent wrench with the knurled thumb screw from the past and return this one.

Surprisingly goodMar 29, 2009
By W. Black I buy a lot of super-dooper widget wrenches, and am usually disappointed. I've got a box full of good-idea wrenches and pliars that just aren't worth using. I figured this thing had about a fifty-fifty chance, but was very pleasantly surprised. It actually works - and most importantly, it keeps a snug fit on the nut. I went back and bought a full set, and a bunch more for Christmas gifts. My brother says it only saves a few seconds each time you use it, but what a pleasure it is to save those few seconds.
looks like it will be a handy tool to haveJul 24, 2011
By Phillip Pickman 10": Shipment arrived earlier than I expected. Adjusting knob slides easily and wrench locks as it should. I haven't used it on a real live job yet, but testing indicates it should work well. 8": shipment arrived earlier than expected, but wrench was defective. Slider didn't work smoothly, which made it hard to adjest accurately. Amazon return process made it very easy to return it and to get a replacement product. The replacement was defective too. On the replacement, the jaw didn't lock. Amazon suggested to return it and get a refund, which I did. Rep I spoke with on the phone said that they would inspect their stock to see if it was a bad batch. Amazon was supposed to let me know when they got in a good batch of product; it's been several weeks and I haven't heard from them. Again, Amazon return process worked easily and correctly.
Smooth Quick AdjusterFeb 11, 2008
By Jopah Unlike the other review I have totally positive experience with mine. Slide mechanism is smooth and easy to adjust, (possibly they have a defective one) Lets face it unless you purchase the Irwin 2078605 10 Inch "Quick Adjusting Wrench" none of them hold size very well. With this Crescent one its a simple matter of slide it right back to size. My only beef is the handle is somewhat too smooth for my liking, prefer a rougher grip.Irwin 2078605 10 Inch SAE Quick Adjusting Wrench
