Does the job well.Jan 02, 2003
By John Ellsworth I bought an earlier model of the bean bag mount by Garmin. Mine is black and has four distinct lobes instead of being more circular. I have a plastic mount in my primary car and wanted a temporary mount for when I rented a car. The bean bag mount has a non-skid under-surface and is filled with heavy pellets. I have used the mount on three different car dashboards and the center console of a Ford Econoline. It easily conformed to the various shapes and has never slipped. It is an excellent temporary mount. It adds some weight to your carry-on luggage, but the weight is what contributes to its function.

Don't toss this oneAug 30, 2005
By S. T. S. Khalsa The bean bag mount is amazingly secure on the dast, even with relatively aggressive maneuvering. It will slide forward under heavy braking with a fairly steeply sloped dashboard, but generally keeps the unit steady under much heavier G forces than you have any right to expect.

Garmin Bean Bag Mount for GPSMay 06, 2007

"Perpetually Lost"
I gave this product two stars instead of only one because I evidently misunderstood what I was ordering. I own a Nuvi 350 and this beanbag simply won't hold it in place. I change cars frequently and wanted a very portable mounting system to keep the GPS safe during use. I found that if I made a sudden stop, the Nuvi flew off the bag and clunked into the windshield. Save your money; do not buy this product if you want to use it with the Nuvi 350. Perhaps it's designed for use with some other Garmin GPS.

Outdated ProductMar 06, 2009
By WV Rock Once you buy this product and get the directions and applications - which aren't mentioned in the brief product description - you find that this was designed for the historic Garmins II and III. Not designed for anything newer. Has a handy pouch for storing extra alkaline batteries! Should not be recommended as a product to buy with a modern unit.
