3They're not like the XENON ones we use to be able to get!Jan 19, 2008

These work but they are not even close to putting out any where near the amount of light the older xenon bulbs use to. They're not 7 bucks a piece either so I guess it might be a down side but you're getting about 3x the bulbs for the money. If you want to get a really bright light maybe the maglite isn't good enough anymore if we can't keep it bright. There are a lot of other choices out there.

I've had mine for 14 years now on the beat and it still works. I've only had 2 batteries in it. I charge when it only needs to be charged. So in other words I've only bought one battery to replace the old one. It's lasted a long time so I guess I can't complain. I do find myself not using it a lot anymore because of the brightness of the flaslight. it's like a regular 3 cell anymore.

3Not an improvement over the old styleOct 01, 2010
By W. D. Hall "nhsd"
The manufacturer's hype is that these newer bulbs are an improvement over the original rechargable MagLite bulbs (30% brighter I think they said). Not true, in fact I doubt that it is even as bright as my old bulb was (before it burnt out of course). Let's just hope it lasts as long (over 15 years for the last one).

It just worked as expected but I believe the original bulb was far more brighter. Hope this will last over a year.

5Maglite bulbMay 12, 2010
By Jim R. White
I always like to keep an extra bulb on hand, even though I know there is one in the cap. It was so easy ordering it online, as I couldn't find it in stores.

5It's a bulbApr 14, 2010

Works fine. I installed it be sure not to touch the bulb with your bare hands at any time. Th oils on you hand will blow the bulb out fast..
