my favorite!Feb 05, 2012
By queensfoodie28 If you tried this and missed the flavor pay off the problem may be an average palette. Some people are super-tasters and able detect most ingredients, if that sounds like you than try this oil. This is my favorite olive oil! I don't use it for cooking but as a finishing oil , dipping oil, or when I make fresh Caeser dressing. It's amazing with fresh mozz and tomatoes. I love it as a dipping oil for fresh semolina- just add cracked pepper and salt + fresh herbs. It's buttery and smooth. I used to use butter religiously and this is the oil that got me off my butter addiction. But if you look around you can buy this for much cheaper. I find it at an Italian Deli in Astoria NY for under 22$ ( that's a new york city price folks!) After this oil it's hard to stomach regular olive oil. It's spoiled me! If you're looking for a good cooking E.V.O.O than go for a Frantoia Barberra unflitered- which is great when making a homemade sauce and award winner. -- Enjoy fellow foodies:)

Am I missing something?Jul 26, 2010
By uberjew This olive oil is supposed to be special. I don't taste anything special. To me, it tastes slightly better than normal, cheap, off the grocery store shelf olive oil. I got mine at a local Italian grocery store for the same price as what's listed here. Not worth it if you ask me.
Google Frantoio for olive oil that has a nice taste.
