great monitor for the priceSep 30, 2008
By Joshua Fookes Purchased two. Monitors are good for the price. No dead pixels. Good performance with older video card (128mb) and older PC (2Ghz Pentium4).

Viewsonics Are the BestOct 27, 2008
By K. West I have been a dedicated ViewSonic monitor fan since I began my graphic design business more than 15 years ago. That being said, I've only had two of them because that's all I've needed. The first one was a CRT and lasted for years until I decided I wanted an LCD. I went back to ViewSonic because of my previous experience and for their outstanding prices. That was almost five years ago and my ViewSonic LCD is still going strong and is still perfect. I'm a graphic designer and work on it nearly every single day and I have never had a problem. As far as Viewsonic is concerned -- it is the only brand of monitor for me!

almost perfectFeb 02, 2009
By B. Peterson I originally ordered these monitors for each of my teenage kids as a Christmas present to replace older CRT's and to free up desk space. As a technology buff, I have been surprised to find myself shopping for electronics on Amazon; however, I must admit that I have been pleased with the selection of high-quality items available, the free shipping deals, and with their prices. With this purchase, the monitors were very competitively-priced and arrived quickly and safely to my doorstep within a couple of days.
I would say that everything was perfect, but one of the monitors did have a "stuck pixel", which means that it has one small dot of bright green light on the screen that won't turn off. It arrived that way and we have not been able to un-stick it; though, since it is in the upper left-hand corner, it has not been an issue and has not affected using the monitor. This is common to LCD monitors and can often be remedied with carefully-placed pressure (get professional help before you try it!) and is not the fault of either Amazon or ViewSonic.
Overall, the picture quality is excellent and the price and service from Amazon were very good, as usual. I recommended this monitor, through Amazon, to others, who have all been happy with their purchases as well.

Less Than ExpectedJan 07, 2009

"MonitorMiffed"
I had used a ViewSonic monitor at work some years ago, so was very interested and confident in this purchase to accompany a new desktop computer purchase that came sans monitor. It looked like a great deal for the price. The monitor is a good size. The screen is bright. But grainy is the best way to describe the display of text and images. I've tried every resolution setting, and the native resolution is the best. And even though Vista comes with ClearType pre-set, I've reset it and even used the online version trying to clarify text display, to no avail. Some online forums suggest that Vista might be the problem, but we have vista on another home computer with a Dell monitor, and text looks fine on it. This monitor is certainly usable, and the fuzzy text can be gotten used to within a half-our of straight use, but compared to the monitor used at work and on our other home computer, this one is continually disappointing. For the price, I don't think it would be worth the trouble to return it, so will put up with it for a few more months then consider an upgrade. Unless you just have to have a budget class monitor, I would consider another make. I know I should have done more homework.
